Logline:
Dread, the second in the Book of Blood franchise is a stylish horror/thriller about three college students working on a documentary for school focusing on what others dread in life.
Synopsis:
Red-hot young star Jackson Rathbone, fresh from the smash film TWILIGHT SAGA and the upcoming THE LAST AIRBENDER, stars in the stylish horror/thriller DREAD. Stephen (RATHBONE) and Cheryl (Hanne Steen, INSATIABLE) are college students making a documentary about what people dread in life. But they have no idea that their partner Quaid (Shaun Evans, BOY A, TELSTAR), witnessed his parents being murdered by an axe-wielding lunatic and wants to make others experience his own personal horror. The three set out to document people revealing their life’s most terrifying moments. But Quaid quickly grows bored with mere interviews and decides to take the study to a much more visceral level, causing all three to become vulnerable as they reveal their fears in front of the camera. Just as Stephen and Cheryl realize they have partnered with a madman, they also find themselves subjects of the hideous experiment they brought to life… learning more about fear and dread than any human mind can stand. Clive Barker, the Godfather of modern horror/fantasy and the creator of the Hellraiser and Candyman Series, produced DREAD. His protégé Anthony DiBlasi, co-producer of the upcoming HELLRAISER and executive producer on BOOK OF BLOOD and MIDNIGHT MEAT TRAIN, masterfully directs DREAD, the second film in the terrifying BOOK OF BLOOD franchise, with mind-blowing special effects from Artem (TROY, TOMB RAIDER 2). For millions of horror fans worldwide, there will be no greater dread than missing this landmark of terror.

I really enjoyed this film. I’m a horror buff and I feel like I have seen it all.. and nothing really affects me anymore. But this film really gave the creeps. From the first flash back, to the strip club, to the music, to the dreams, it was very disturbing. It felt like watching something that either has happened or could happen.. I really love the guy that played Quaid. He was nothing short of brilliant. He can have a look of terror and fear one second then a look of confident dominance that is effortless. He definitely stole the show. This is one of the better films in the after dark horrorfest series.. and believe me, I have watched them all. Basically I loved this movie and would recommend it to anyone that loves a bit of horror.

I really enjoy Clive Barker. Since Hellraiser, Candyman and The Midnight Meat Train. Gotta say, this story doesn’t have supernatural nor creature elements to it. I really like the part of Quaid. He has mental problems after seeing the death of his parents and that’s shaping him for who he really is. I do like Abby. Has a birthmark running down her side. Her life becomes horror because people like to make fun of her because of the birthmark. Stephen, a college student that’s reallt on his own and looks upto Quaid. I like it when Quaid really begans to lose his mond and starts testing fears. Some parts of the movie were alittle off. Making them really boring. Not alot of deaths. I really wish Quaid would really get it at the end, instead of Stephen.

I have to admit that the end sucks but at the same time a different plot would be lame. I really like this movie and the characters! Great actors!! It’s actually not a horror movie (like saw or something like it), but I like it because it gets inside your head and stays a whole while. And I really had no idea of the end- that’s rare xD If you haven’t seen it yet- go watch it!! =)

Started off a bit slow, but once you get into it it’s twisted as hell! I loved sick twisted demented movies. You deliver again =)

I absolutely loved this movie. It was creepy and very sophisticated. It wasn’t a stupid slasher with no plot or good acting. It was intense and it scared me to no end. But the scariness didn’t come from stupid-jump-out-at-you scenes. No it messed with my mind. I think Quaid was the perfect killer. He was messed up and demented. Horrorfest, you have made a truly remarkable movie. I hope Kill Theory is this good.
